We were made to feel very welcome and the hosts accommodated our request for a vegan breakfast.

For vegan food, visit An Tobar veggie cafe in Tobermory, don't bother with Isle of Mull hotel and spa, where we were initially offered salad, then rice and vegetables!

24th May 2019:

Lovely central location for seeing the whole Island. Afterwards were doubly glad we didn’t stay either north or south as driving to all the sights, Iona, Tobermory etc would have taken too long for us. Room was super comfortable with everything you needed including a good en suite. Breakfasts were great quality in a lovely dining room with views over the mountain behind. Damask table cloths with everything beautifully presented. Sandra and Stuart were wonderful hosts dealing with a few last minutes changes without fuss.

Tips:

Evening meals out are a little limited nearby. With the Forsa Hotel the nearest of average quality but ok after a days travelling. As mentioned in a few other reviews you need to go through 3 gates, two metal and one wooden( which you need to open and close each time)to get to the B&B which might prove a little tedious if you were staying for a long time. All you need is a fit and willing partner to be gatekeeper while you drive through!

GHF is a beautiful B&B, clean, well-mannered and spacious. Sharon and Stuart do all they can to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. They served us tea and homemade shortbreads upon arrival, helped us to book reservations at restaurants and sourced replacement activities when our whale-watching tour was cancelled. We rented two rooms and our kids loved having their own space, twin beds and bath. Our bed was large and very comfortable. Breakfast (with individual order) was gorgeous and delicious.

Tips:

Even with bad weather, the drive to Tobermory and then onto Calgary Beach was fantastic. Was sad to miss wildlife tour with SeaLife.

Sharon and Stuart (and their dog Albert) are kind and thoughtful. They run an beautiful bed and breakfast and I hope it lasts for many years to come. We would definitely stay there again if we are visiting Ilse of Mull. Thank you so much and see you next time! Kind regards, Dees and family

Tips:

If you want good food with a view, try the Glenforsa Hotel. Tour around the island with your car because otherwise you'll miss out on some stunning views on the top of the mountains (and don't forget Calgary Beach, small tip find a right parking lot otherwise you'll ride pass it). Last but not least, take a pony trek on Liz Hendersons beautiful native highland pony's. They are well behaved ponies and kind mannerd. On horseback you'll see the islands nature in a totally different way!

Sharon and Stuart were very kind, friendly, and helpful. They made us feel at home. The room was lovely. The breakfast was delicious. They provided a tea tray in our room. They were good at anticipating our needs and meeting our needs. They have spent time, money, and effort to make their home a restful place to refresh travelers. We loved staying there! If we could give this B and B six stars we would!

Tips:

Places we ate- all the food was really good. The Coffee Pot, Am Birlinn, Mediterranea,The Gallery Cafe, the bar at the Glenforsa Hotel, and the tea room at Duart Castle. We loved our trip to Iona and had a lovely scone at The Argylle Hotel. We really enjoyed our trip to Duart Castle. We went to the Mull Museum and the Old Byre Heritage Center and enjoyed both. GHF is such a lovely Guest House. Quite honestly we have stayed in many b an b's and this is by far one of the most beautiful inside and out. It is spotlessly clean with no details omitted. Luxury linens and bedding were wonderful and the bed was just the right firmness. The bathroom-fabulous! Our breakfasts were unsurpassed! Sharon is an amazing hostess and cook. Stewart was also so welcoming! The garden and grounds were amazing. If you are looking for accommodations central to everything on Mull with all the extras, Gruline House Farm is the best choice!

My wife and I stayed at this excellent B&B for 5 days on a recent trip to the Isle of Mull. We are frequent visitors to this magical Island and this particular trip was primarily to spectate on the Mull Rally. Sharon and Stuart are great hosts at this very comfortable B&B. Off the main road this is the perfect place for a good and quiet nights sleep, the comfy beds, excellent linen and great breakfasts ensured that we enjoyed our stay. Nothing was too much trouble and Sharon made us a breakfast 'to go' on one of our very early morning starts.

Sharon and Stuart were very welcoming when we stayed with them and went out of their way to help if they could in terms of giving us information / advice about the island and places to visit. We really couldn't have asked for better hosts. Thank you!

Tips:

Iona Abbey is worth a visit - quite beautiful. A day trip to Staffa and Lunga is something we'd recommend - walk into Fingal's Cave on Staffa and then spend time with the puffins in Lunga! 14th June 2016:

Good central location. Spotlessly clean and "classy" house AND bedroom. Superbly hospitable owners who could not do more for us. We ate our own meal in one night in the conservatory and Sharon kindly provided cutlery, plates etc AND kept our food in her fridge. Beyond the call of duty was giving us some fresh bread from their own kitchen. Wonderful outlook over the hills

Tips:

Salen is 2.5miles away. We had a meal at the Meditteranea which is under new management. Excellent value & food. Even better was the Ballgown restaurant 10miles away. We cycled there (no problem!) and back (big problems!). Best to drive if you come by car. I would highly recommend Gruline Home Farm as a high-class B+B. It was more than a B+B!!

1st June 2016:

Stuart and Sharon were the perfect hosts and could not have made us more welcome. Everything was catered for plus extra thoughtful touches to make our honeymoon special. Excellent breakfast. A very good choice.

Tips:

Langamull beach just North of Calgary is wonderful. The white tailed sea eagles are a delight over Loch Na Keal. Try the Mediteranean restaurant in Salen, it was excellent on two occasions.

17th January 2016:

A lovely big house and garden, and warm welcome, especially from Albert the dog in the garden.Very good bathroom and big bedroom, excellent breakfast. They were also happy for us to arrive after 10pm, having been to a concert at other end of Mull.

Tips:

. Need a car to go for evening meals, probably 3 miles to nearest village on very quiet roads. It makes a good base for the northern centre of the island, and near to a favourite sea eagle spotting place on the sea loch just west. Lovely mountain side view to check weather by from house.

Stuart and Sharon could not have been more welcoming and made our stay very enjoyable. They had thought of everything and we had a wonderful view from our bedroom window.

Tips:

We would highly recommend Jacqui who runs a wildlife tour called Enjoy Mull. She knew where to find all the more unusual birds and wildlife such as otters, golden and white tailed Eagles, a hen harrier and more, a memorable day. We also had a lovely, walk on Iona down to the golf course where the coastline is really beautiful.

We hoped we had done well by choosing your B&B, but it exceeded our expectations in every way! The house is in an ideal setting, peaceful yet not too far from a really handy shop. Our room was a good size, warm and comfortable with a lovely view over the garden and towards mountains. Sharon and Stuart (and not to forget Albert the dog!) were so friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were delicious. It was good to have use of a welcoming sitting room and conservatory. Thank you for such a 5 Star Stay!

2nd August 2015:

Great location if you have a car and are happy to not be in a town as the views of the countryside were great to wake up to - the point deducted for location was more in relation to how easy it would be to get to without a car. The room was huge, bed very comfy and the breakfast and coffee was great. There was also ample parking. Very happy with our stay and would definitely book again if we venture back to Mull. Thanks for your hospitality!

Tips:

There is a bus stop on the road near the driveway, we didn't use the bus network so can't comment on how regular the service is. There are a couple of options for evening meals within 10 - 20 mins drive from the B&B. The Staffa / Lunga boat trip (puffins if the time of year is right) with Turus Mara is good and leaves from the Ulva Ferry pier which is about20mins drive from the B&B - much easier than driving all the way down to Fionphort.
