What a delightful couple. They welcomed us with open armed, 2 soaking wet bikers and nothing was too much trouble for them. The room was lovely and clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay on Mull. The breakfast was delicious and the whole experience so much better than the night before in Oban which was more than double the price. Thanks for looking after us. Sally-Ann & Hugh

Tips:

The Ninth Wave restaurant is a must if you love gourmet food but book way in advance. A trip to Staffa is a must too.

Excellent in every way: thank you! Everything was spotlessly clean and comfortable; the meals were superb; the location was great; and our every need was met! Julie and Patrick were welcoming and helpful, as well as professional. It was very kind of Patrick to ferry us to a restaurant on a rather bleak night. We hope it wont be long before we return. Highly recommended!

28th September 2021:

Julie was very accessible and responsive to emails. Surprising and refreshing in a world where you have to ores 1 for this and 2 for that. We loved the personal nature of the entire process from booking to advice on walks, ferries, tide times. Julie really enhanced our stay with local knowledge and thoughtful help. Patrick was very kind and offered to cook us dinner as there were no other places to eat. Delicious, beautifully presented simple food hat was way better than I could make at home. Very accommodating with everything. Would definitely recommend. Comfortable rooms and good privacy. Lovely views from sitting area. Very very good.

Tips:

Ask Patrick about the walk up the hill down through the quarry and round. You need to be happy on steep grass and able to hike a bit of a way bit a great walk for us with a hidden beach.

An absolutely brilliant BnB. Julie and Patrick were perfect hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. The home was spacious, bright, beautifully decorated and spotless. They followed COVID to the letter in a rigorous but freindly way. The lounge and dining rooms were large and welcoming. We stayed for 4 nights and wished it had been longer. Thery gave good advice about local places, walks and services. By far the finest bnb we have ever stayed at. Thanks!!

Tips:

A couple of hundred yards from the ferry to Iona and Staffa. Less to local shop and post office with daily papers by noon. 9th Wave Restaurant all it claims to be (fantastic!). Don't miss Kintra village and bay with wonderful red granite cliffs within 1 km of Caol. Also walk across beach to Erraid at low tide. Further away Carsaig is a an atmospheric pier in the rain and mist. But for us (ie me!!) the unsung highlight was the drive up Glen More with its views south to Lochs Sguabain,an Eilean, and Glais and onwards to Lochbuie with its fantastic beach and bay and castle and freshly baked cakes (each day 1at 8.00am at beach Post Office. We'll be back!

25th September 2021:

Everything about our stay was exceptionally high. From the early communication, advising us about pubs/restaurants closed for the season and supplying restaurant standard evening meals as well as a breakfast that catered for dietary requirements. The accomodation was high quality, well equipped and immaculate, little extras on arrival made all the difference. The location was ideal for Iona and other sea trips to Staffa. And finally the hosts were very friendly and, we couldn't have asked for more

Tips:

The ferry trip to Iona was easy, paying by card when boarding and there is plenty to see on the island. The parking for the ferry is expensive but only a few 100 meters away there is free parking in the village. The road across the Ross of Mull is very scenic and good quality compared to other remote areas of Mull.

Excellent hospitality with evening meals to accommodate guests when local facilities are restricted of necessity by location and/or arrival times being subject to ferry timetables. Patrick is an excellent chef and Julie likewise a excellent hostess. Covid precautions were very good and did not find them onerous Definitely will aim to repeat our stay next time we would visit Mull

Tips:

Local restaurants are very limited in Fionnphort, and within an hours driving time. Ninth Wave is a niche restaurant and prior booking is essential, if you are a foodie it is really superb but see their website. Local pub the KeelRow has limited opening but meals are good, best to book ahead ( e-mail) if you can before travelling. Frequent daytime ferry service to Iona and excursions to Staffa etc. people go to Mull for the peace and quiet and the wildlife and scenery

17th August 2021:

Our hosts Julie and Patrick were extremely helpful, accommodating and friendly without being intrusive. The breakfasts and evening meal were always fresh and delicious. They were particularly helpful and available by phone in advance of our arrival to give advice on local issues and to book a boat trip to Staffa. They also showed us a fabulous local walk starting from their doorstep. The rooms and beds were very comfortable and well equipped. We especially enjoyed the non generic decor and artwork in our room and the shared spaces (down to the bee motif teacups). The shower was great too, and the homemade biscuits and chocolate left in the rooms very tasty and welcome.

Tips:

We were travelling on public transport with no car which was great as we really enjoyed our early morning schedules bus ride from Craignure to Fionnphort during which the duvet have us a lively guided tour (I don't think all the drivers offer this service though!). However its very important not to miss the last bus of the day from Craignure to Fionnphort as its an hours drive and very difficult (and costly) to find a taxi. We had no car but it was easy to get the ferry from Fionnphort to Iona and enjoy great walks, fantastic beaches, good food me to visit the famous Iona Abbey and Nunnery. There are also amazing beaches (eg Finnen) and walks on Mull. We had a good mean at the Keel Row Pub and the best fish and chips at the Creek, both near the Fionnphort ferry terminal. We had no problem with midges at all (mid August). A trip to Staffa to see Fingals's Cave is a must and further out to the Treshnish Islands to see the Puffins and other wildlife during the season. Sadly, the Puffins had all left by the time we arrived but we hope to return again to this wonderful part of the world.

Great stay. Perfect location for our trips to Iona and Staffa. Travelling around Mull can take a bit of time so it was super handy to be so close to the boats leaving in the morning. The breakfast was great at the Caol - lots of choice and was nice to served a hot breakfast (as a lot of others aren't doing this right now). Superb big shower - very powerful. A warm welcome from Julie and Patrick. Nothing was too much trouble. There were lots of extras in our room. Excellent meals. Delicious home cooking and not “chips with everything” Good to have space for wet walking shoes and coats. Comfy lounge area with lovely view. The only minus was the poor mobile and WiFi reception

Tips:

This part of Mull is to be highly recommended for its superb sandy beaches and access to Iona. The location on the edge of Fionphort makes it very convenient for the ferry, pub, shop and 2 of the many sandy beaches.Having visited the Ross many times we reckon it often avoids the rain that the rest of Mull gets from the higher mountains.

Tips:

It's a great place to stay, conveniently near to Iona but also offering possibilities of walks around that end of Mull. The Argyll Hotel on Iona offers good food with a superb view of the sea and back to Mull. The Keel Row pub offers a good choice of food with friendly service. Tips:

The Treshnish Islands boat trip is highly recommended, the company we booked with only goes on Tues & Thurs at the moment. Local restaurants all excellent but note that the Creel can run out of options later in the day, depending on demand. It's extremely popular and rightly so! We have stayed at the Caol Ithe on a number of occasions over the last 10 years, and it has never disappointed us at all. The current owners, Patrick and Julie have made us so welcome, and have coped with the current Covid situation so well, to make us feel safe and comfortable during our stay. They have provided beautiful evening meals when the local Inn was not open. The rooms are lovely with the extra touches such as home made fudge and a coffee machine. The views from the sun lounge window are beautiful, looking across to Iona, or just watching the many beautiful little birds in the garden.

Tips:

Take a Scottish Bird book as there are so many beautiful birds to see. The Keel Row inn has great food with large portions! Iona is beautiful, spend time just sitting on one of the many benches on the island and take in the view, peace and calm.

We had a wonderful 2 night stay here. The guest house is extremely comfortable. We stayed in the last room available which did not have an en-suite bathroom but the main bathroom for our exclusive use was close by. This was very large and had a good shower and bath in it. Breakfast was superb. A very good choice of food and cooked to perfection. COVID procedures were in place but this was very reassuring. We look forward to visiting again.

Tips:

At the time we stayed there were very few places that were open for evening meals. Julia, our host, did offer a hot meal but unfortunately we couldn’t take the offer up. I’m told by other guests that it was excellent. If you want to visit the abbey on Iona, you must book in advance. All places were taken up by the time we got round to booking the day before.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. No complaints. You were most obliging and also easy to talk to. If looking for any difficulties, the only thing I can think of was a rather heavy, and squeaky, bathroom door! As we discussed, we would be VERY happy to stay again - with an evening meal included - though we would be prepared to face the hassle of the pub sme nights (if these wretched problems would go away). We managed to forget all about Covid while we were with you - apart from your house we didn’t touch anything or see anyone. Back to Glasgow now - still sunny! Wish we were still with you! Many thanks, and best wishes for the success of your business. Hope you enjoy life on Mull. Marie Watt

Tips:

Don’t try to drive all over the island - just enjoy the nearby bays etc., and, of course, Iona.

We think this is one of the best b and b's we have stayed in. The welcome was warm and kind throughout the week, the room was v comfortable, the food at breakfast and dinner each day was carefully prepared and delicious. Thank you for a memorable stay, during a v difficult period. You struck the right balance in making us feel safe and yet relatively normal as well. Thank you so much

Tips:

Difficult to provide tips with so much closed! We hiked each day, using the Cicerone guide for ideas. Two walking trips to Iona were good, plus others to explore southern coastline and other headlands on Ross of Mull. We certainly experienced it's remoteness. Two sets of walking footwear and waterproofs were essential!! Plenty to explore for six days without too much roadwork in the car!

Tips:

The next morning we took the Staffa Tours trip at 9.45am to Staffa (Fingal's Cave) and then to Iona. We also saw Harbour Porpoises, a Basking Shark, a Minke Whale, Shags and Great Shuas. After spending about 3 hours on Iona we took the Staffa Tours boat to Fionnphort, then drove to Tobermory. we had lunch in the garden at St Columba Hotel which was quite OK.

Accommodation was spotless, breakfast and dinner brilliant and Our hosts went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. The location is close to Iona and trips to Staffa but apart from that you might feel you have fallen off the end of the world. This absolutely is a positive, forced, as you will be, into abandoning the car and visiting some of the finest scenery in Scotland.

7th June 2019:

This is a really lovely B&B - the rooms are well decorated and appointed; the espresso machine was a great bonus! Bed very comfy. The guests dining room and lounge both have great views of the surrounding hills. The lounge has large picture windows and a telescope to make the best of the views. We stayed 4 nights but seemed to be the only ones to use the lounge - all the other guests stayed in their rooms - very much their loss. Breakfast was excellent - cooked to order and very tasty. We needed to leave early on our last morning, but an early breakfast was no problem. Just one thing didn't really work for us - 3 of the rooms have en suite bathrooms, but the 4th room has a separate bathroom across the corridor. No problem if that room is unoccupied or the guests in it sleep through the night - but, if like us, you have an elderly couple in there who get up to go to the bathroom 3 times during the night then the opening, closing and locking/unlocking of the doors disturbs your sleep.

Tips:

Be warned that eating options in Fionnphort are limited. There is an expensive fish restaurant (which must be pre-booked) or the local pub - the Keel Row. The Keel Row do not allow pre-booking - you turn up at 17.30 or later and get you name on a waiting list, with no say in what time you get to eat. Whilst in Fionnphort make sure you visit Iona and Staffa.

Caol-Ithe is the very best place to stay in Fionnphort. The people, food and service can not be better.

Tips:

Visit Iona! Get up early. Breakfast is served at 7:30 AM. Gives you enough time to get the first ferry at 8.35 AM. Join the morning service in the Abbey at 9:00 PM, and explore the Abbey-grounds and museum afterwards. Explore the rest of the island: Take a walk to Columba bay (south end) or the Iona Marble quarry (same direction but not marked). Or go to see the white sands of the beach on the northern part of the island.Take your time to have Afternoon teas at Argyll Hotel from 2.PM (they have marvelous scones, whipped cream and jam) before you leave the island. Have your light but good dinner at Keel Row between 6 and 8 PM the same day and if you stay another day, book a table at Ninth Wave restaurant for the next evening. They are absolutely excelent. Don't forget to visit Staffa. Caol-Ithe can help you to book.

Tips:

For an evening meal and some good beer you can't beat Keel Row - very friendly even when busy. Go over to Iona - its so beautiful with lovely white sandy beaches. The information centre is well worth a visit - plus their café for lunch. Lovely gifts at the shop near the quay too.

Always a very warm welcome. Clean and comfortable room with little added extras that make your stay even more enjoyable. Nothing is too much trouble for Cath & Mike, who are a great couple with lots of knowledge about the area and plenty of advice of what to do and where to go.

Tips:

The Keel Row in Fionnphort is great for food, but get in early, otherwise you may not get a table until late! The Creel at Fionnphort Pier is handy for takeaway sandwiches - I asked if they could make up a Prawn Mayonnaise sandwich for me (I'm not keen on the Marie Rose sauce, which they usually put with the Prawns) - it was amazing!! even better than M&S! We were made most welcome, even with a cup of tea and home baking on arrival - a home from home! Very comfortable and clean accommodation. Delicious breakfast, including a very good choice of hot cooked dishes. All in all, a quality establishment! We were most appreciative of the information about the locality and about trips to Iona and Staffa. Little extras, such as coffee machine in the room, provision of binoculars, wine glasses and bottle opener and the raspberry liqueuer and home-made tablet each day were very nice touches.

Cathy and Mike are delightful hosts who make you feel very welcome. The rooms are immaculately prepared, with little touches to put their B&B ahead of the best. Breakfasts were delicious. My only comment to improve the service would be to provide guests with face cloths. I didn't travel with anything for showering as I anticipated getting one.

Tips:

Keel Row offers good food but take no reservations and so you need to turn up early and wait. Fortunately, the sun was out, it was warm and everyone was happy to sit outside and wait for a table. The Ninth Wave restaurant is a MUST and reservations are essential. It is an exceptional restaurant by any standards, but to find it on the southwest corner of Mull.... Iona isn't only about the Abbey, the island has the most amazing beaches. I want to return for a week or longer.

Tips:

The proximity to the ferry for Iona is a real bonus and we ate at the Keel Row on all 3 nights. Excellent location to visit Iona, and other islands by boat trips. Many interesting local cottage industries to visit, not to mention the wildlife it is possible to see. Ideally you need at least 3-4 days to appreciate this beautiful and rugged landscape.

5* quality and service. Large free standing bath in luxurious bathroom was a real treat and touches such as providing slippers and bathrobes meant it was the favourite b&b of our visit. Would love to have stayed longer and would certainly return if we were ever on Mull again Lovely views and perfect location for a visit ti Iona.

Tips:

Had a delicious meal in The Keel Inn. Tips for visitors - don't bother taking photos of highland cattle in fields because when you get to Fionnphort you'll find them strolling down the streets!

Even though our main destination was Iona, it made good sense to stay on the Mull side of the ferry. It was quite elegant, including the fudge and raspberry liqueur in the room, and really fine breakfasts. The view from the dining room will be with me always.

Tips:

Fionnphort is not exactly a tourist destination, but it does have a couple of excellent, if spendy, places to eat. And it has two little groceries where we could get the bread and cheese and fruit to make up our less-spendy picnic lunches.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Caol ithe. The hospitality was superb, room extremely comfortable, breakfast magnificent, hosts very friendly and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. The attention to detail was outstanding (even included dressing gowns, homemade tablet and a decanter of raspberry liquor in our room). There was a lovely sitting room available to residents too. Would definitely recommend this b&b and in fact have already done so!!!

Tips:

Local pub - Keel Row was great for supper and being a Thursday night included live local music which was fun. Our teenage kids were amazed to see highland cows walking down the road in front of the pub!

The B and B is very lovely and had extremely comfortable beds, great breakfasts and thoughtful extras from fudge and raspberry liqueur in our room to binoculars for use on trips. We also appreciated the lounge where we spent time as a family.

Tips:

Staying here is excellent for visiting Iona and Staffa, both well worth a visit. A trip to Tobermory will take 2 hours on the single track road but a good day out. The Aquarium is great, a chance to handle starfish and crabs doesn't come along too often! A gorgeous art gallery in Tobermory, we felt more affordable and nicer than the gallery on Iona. Stunning landscape and brilliant wildlife to spot on this magnificent island.

I give Caol-Ithe a rating of six. Mike and Cathy Drury were welcoming, helpful, gracious and thoroughly enjoyable hosts. They made our 5 day stay in Fionnephort better than we could have hoped for. I hope to stay with them again sometime in the future.

Tips:

The guesthouse is located at the edge of town so it was delightfully quiet and still a quick walk to the ferry and shops. Food at the local pub was surprisingly good. Their credit card processing was on the blink so it was an inconvenience to have to (unexpectedly) pay cash. Luckily, the 'FerryStore' would do cash exchange.

Tips:

The sea food shack by the ferry is fabulous. The local pub serves reasonably priced food and drinks. Both well worth several visits! The local shop is well stocked for self catering needs. Cathy and Mike are wonderful hosts! The guest house's location is fantastic. Facilities were tip top and their place was very clean and tidy. Most importantly the service was impeccable. My wife enjoyed our stay in Mull tremendously and we wish to share this gem of a discovery! Keep up the great job, Cathy and Mike.

Tips:

There is a lovely walk up to the old Tomore Quarry and a hidden beach. Its about a 2 hour round trip from the house. There's few choices to dine in along that street. The pub the Keel Row is just a 2 minute walk from the house and offers great home cooking and reasonable prices. They don't take bookings so they will feed everyone. They start food and 6pm and finish around 8 pm so we always suggest you get there early. Alternatively, there's also The Creel Seafood Bar. It's situated just beside the terminal. Prices are reasonable and have 2 tables beside the shack. I highly recommend the Staff Tours trip to the Trennish islands to Lunga. We managed to see see puffins and dolphins when we visited in mid July. The Fingals cave visit was OK and ending up on the Isle of Iona. The entire trip is from 10 to 3pm. Round trip is 60 Pounds but the price doesn't include your return ferry tickets if you coming back to Fionphort.

Eat at the Keel Row pub, get there early and put your name on the list for the restaurant as they have a small kitchen and operate a queuing system for tables, it is worth the wait and the real ale in the bar is good.

All of Iona, Mull ! Lots of local info. Keel Row serves very good meals with friendly service. Creel Shed has wonderful range of fish based sandwiches etc.

Fantastic, friendly and warm hosts. As the first BnB host we met in Scotland, we couldn't have felt more welcome and glad to arrive in Mull. It was especially a relief to see Mike after experiencing a car breakdown early in the day. The accommodation was as described in the website, was more comfortable than we thought and even had a small bottle of delicious Scottish whisky after a long day of traveling. Evening tea was thoughtful and much appreciated. As was the large spread for the breakfast the next morning. We are also so grateful to Mike for running around the island looking for us when we accidentally left our son's Paddington Bear toy in the guest room. Many thanks and we hope to see you guys (and your adorable pup) again.

Tips:

Stay here if you are going to Iona. It is only a very short distance away by foot and after a good breakfast, you might need a good walk to burn off those calories. Please also consider staying more than one night. A single night's stay does not do justice to the scenery and effort that the hosts put into making you feel comfortable and at home.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay and only wish it could have been for longer! Cathy and Mike are excellent hosts; very warm, welcoming, friendly and accommodating. They are the best hosts we have ever met in a bed and breakfast setting. The breakfasts were superb with a really good choice of options - delicious and delivered with Mike's cheery morning chat! The house itself is beautifully presented, very cosy and comfy with an attractive lounge and superb views. The bedrooms are very pleasant, well fitted and tastefully decorated. Top quality!

Tips:

So much to see - the ferry trip to Iona makes it possible to go for the day and climb Dun-I, go to the beach, walk to Columba's Bay and eat lovely food at the Argyll or the Columba hotels. The little wooden hut by the pier at Fionnphort also does really good sandwiches and fish and chips to take away or eat on the decking.

The Caol-Ithe is set in a very quiet and lovely scenery with a panoramic view of the coast of Mull up to Iona Abbey. It offers very nice and clean rooms which are decorated with a sure sense of taste. The mattresses are rather hard - but that is a matter of taste. The breakfast is made freshly for every guest and is of outstanding quality. And last but certainly not least: The hosts are very friendly and helpful. We'll certainly be back if we visit Mull again!

Tips:

Things to do: A boats tour (e.g. with Staffa Tours or Staffa Trips) to Staffa with Fingal's Cave is a MUST and definitely worth the money. In April there were hardly any Puffins yet, which can be seen better from May to July. A trip to Iona is easy and cheap enough to realize so one should also visit the famous Abbey and Nunnery. Restaurants: There aren't many places around: The Ninth Wave Restaurant only opens in May as they depend on fresh herbs etc. that only grow after April. So for us, the Keel Row was the only option. The pub is nice but food is only served in the restaurant. The food itself was good but the atmosphere was a sure turn-off as kids were literally jumping around and is was extremely loud. For this the restaurant is overpriced. Probably it would be advisable to have dinner later when families have gone.

Breakfast was a huge, lovely affair cooked by Cathy, with views to take your breath away, including black faced sheep parading down the street! Absolutely delightful!!

We had an immaculate stay at Caol-Ithe, as the hosts were more than accommodating and friendly, and the room was beyond lovely. Sea views and a two minute walk to the pier/ferry made the location convenient. I love the way the room was decorated and furnished, as well as the little touches by the hosts, like fudge and liquor and flowers. The hosts were also queer-friendly, and that was a nice welcome considering how remote the Hebrides/Highlands can be in that sense. We'll definitely stay again!

If you're planning a trip to Iona and Staffa, Fionnphort—10 min ferry trip from Iona—is the ideal place to stay. And if it's a B&B you want, none better than Cael Ithe, a few minutes walk down to the ferry. Refurbished and modernised this year, Cael Ithe, which also offers self-catered apartments is five star in all but name, a Hilton or Marriot in all but size. Better still, it's run by a couple who couldn't be more accommodating, from coping with your late arrival to providing an early but wonderful full Scottish breakfast when you leave. Need a boat trip to Staffa? They'll make the reservation. Help with a dinner reservation in one of the local restaurants? Borrow the house phone. Stay connected to the world? Freesat and wifi are at your service. Or just chat about the local flora and forma? Your delightful hosts are well informed. We stayed two nights, cramming Iona Abbey and Fingal's Cave into one day. Wished we could have stayed a week.

Tips:

Best restaurant is probably The Ninth Wave but need to book well in advance. Otherwise The Keel Row has a good menu--an excellent sirloin in our case--and real ale. 10 min away in Bunessan is the Blackbird Bistro, where you take your own wine. The Creel Seafood Bar next to the ferries is billed as 'probably the best seafood shack in Scotland.

Tips:

Beautiful place but not many places in Finnophort to eat in the evening if your tiered and want just to have a meal with your family without traveling. The waiting time at the Keel row is 1hr possibly more and food not great depending on what you order? As they use frozen chips and muscles were not that fresh. Michael and Cathy were so friendly and helpful, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our rooms were spotless, beautifully decorated, with very comfortable beds and great showers. The breakfast was so delicious and plentiful! I had smoked haddock with poached egg one morning, which was the best and freshest haddock I have ever had. After a blissful day on a boat trip to Staffa and Iona islands, we got back to be served afternoon tea and whiskey fruit cake by Cathy in the conservatory, which was very welcome. It was a great stay and we would certainly return.

Tips:

Michael and Cathy recommended a local restaurant, "The Nineth Wave", which is walkable from Caol-Ithe. It was all superb, with local seafood and fish, as well as other dishes. I would definitely recommend doing a boat trip to Staffa Island, to see Fingal's Cave and the puffins, and Iona, to see St Columba's church. The scenic route back to the ferry, along the west coast of Mull was beautiful.

Despite its 4* rating as a B&B, Caol-Ithe is 5 star. We had two superb luxury bedrooms and the all-day use of a comfortable residents' lounge. Breakfast was spectacular - couldn't eat half of it - as Mike and Carol are catering professionals. It is custom-built and modern in construction which ensures hotel standard facilities. This is not a complaint but bedrooms to the rear have no real view but the residents' lounge does. Were given a wonderful welcome.

Tips:

Fhionport is only thirty miles from the ferry at Craignure but with single track road with passing places and lots of traffic for Iona. Allow over an hour to get there. The only restaurant is very busy and serves on a first come first served basis, so get there early. Ideally located for Iona and Ross of Mull visits but two hours from Tobermory.

12th June 2016:

My stay with Caol - Ithe Guest House was superb, and I would urge other travelers to choose Mike and Kathy's gem in Fionnhphort. Not only are they delightful hosts, the facility itself is first class. I felt very welcomed, happily comfortable and breakfast was fantastic. Mike and Kathy are knowledgeable, interesting and congenial, and the details make it a world class B&B. Wonderful hospitality.

Tips:

Dining in Fionnhphort is extremely limited. Dinner choices are The Keel Row and The Ninth Wave. Both require forethought. The Ninth Wave requires advance booking; The Keel Row, with very friendly staff, requires being there before the doors open. Mike and Kathy know the area well.

Thank you a hundred times over to Mike and Cathy. We have stayed at Caol Ithe before and would always stay there when visiting that beautiful part of Mull. What welcoming and entertaining hosts. Accommodation is absolutely top class.

Tips:

Do everything! Make sure you leave enough time to visit Iona and return to Caol Ithe in time to freshen up and tootle up the lane to the Ninth Wave for dinner where lobster is a must ( as is a wee dram ).

Unknowingly we picked a winner and hope to return in 2016

Tips:

Restaurants are generally good, but few and far between. You can get away with one night in Fionnphort, two would be preferable; I think three would cover even for the most dedicated.
