Cill Mhoire Lodges in Dervaig provide a home from home for your holiday on Mull. Mull is a paradise for wildlife lovers and walkers. We provide plenty of walking books and nature guides to the island in your lodge plus Ordnance Survey maps covering the whole of the island. The lodges are set within the five acre grounds of our home on the edge of the village within walking distance of the well stocked village shop and the Oldest Inn on Mull, the Bellachroy Inn, serving delicious food and a great range of drinks. Tobermory is within easy reach, 8 miles away and Calgary bay with its white sandy beaches are just four miles away. We offer good value, comfortable accommodation. We also provide for short breaks unlike many other Self Catering properties on the island. Children are free to explore our extensive gardens and play games on the lawns. We welcome dogs and provide a doggy welcome pack for all our furry friends on arrival. All power, linen and towels are included in the tariff.

Lovely stay here, we loved the extra touches such as milk and biscuits, hotwater bottle and extra blanket, nice soap, board games and books. The information pack was very handy and nice to have it sent ahead via email too. Jo and Tom were very friendly and helpful.

Our 2nd stay and we’ll definitely be back for our 3rd. Accommodation has everything and more that you could possibly wish for, set in a perfect location. Jo & Tom are the perfect hosts, so friendly & helpful. Plus the most amazing sunsets we have ever witnessed!

Tips:

We love Calgary bay, a short drive from the accommodation. Also a trip over to Ulva. A visit to Isle of Mull cheese and a boat trip on Sea Life Mull is a ‘must do’ too!

Once again a perfect stay ,absolutely spotless on arrival, every single thing you could need is catered for within beech Lodge, absolutely glorious situation with stunning views, Tom and jo are there if you need them but invisible so it's not like there watching you in their home,a very balance I would think but they do it well.massive credit to them for their lodges.

Tips:

Just come and sink into a slower pace of life, the bellachory hotel does really good food and 🍺, iona is a must,I did staffa tour which was well worth the £40 a skull, so beautiful it truly was a shame when we had to turn fo home.

6th July 2024:

Willow Lodge was very comfortable, a real home from home. We were greeted with a friendly welcome from our host on arrival. Lodge has everything you could possibly need for your stay, from well equipped kitchen and a welcome pack of teas, coffee's, hot chocolate and the most delicious biscuits made on Mull of course.Even sandwich bags for our packed lunch which was a great help!! Beds were very comfortable and we enjoyed the domino's and board games since our week was rather wet, although that didn't stop us from exploring the area and enjoying our time away. Picnic bench on a rained decking area to be enjoyed when it's dry and a nice table and chairs covered in the porch for taking in the view.

Tips:

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Mull and having the time to explore, we were sad to leave. Island life might be the way for us at some point. If you enjoy wildlife, exploring and local food Mull is the place for you to try. The Lodge is located just outside the town of Dervaig which is an ideal base for exploring. We covered a few miles on the single track roads, which have plenty passing places and all motorists are very respectful. The highlight of our trip was a trip to Lunga and Staffa from Ulva ferry. Out for the full day and get the opportunity to be very close to the puffins, razorbills, gannets to name only a few. Took a trip to Duart Castle, the view from the battlement was spectacular, all the way to Ben Nevis if your lucky!! Tobermory is the main town which is 7 miles from the Lodge and has many gift shops, places for eating especially fresh sea food and a ferry port to other islands. Hebridean Princess was docked while we were there. Isle of Mull cheese located just outside Tobermory is a must to visit and they also have the most beautiful and unusual glass coffee shop. For even more wildlife a visit to Loch Na Keal is magical if you catch a glimpse of the majestic white tailed eagles. We stayed 4 nights and packed lots in and not to forget the beautiful beaches. Calgary was stunning 😍 we will definitely return in the future for sure..

We thought that the owners, Jo and Tom, were very welcoming and knowledgeable about the island and extremely helpful.

Tips:

We only used 1 local restaurant Ar Barn, which we found disappointing, but there were many local cafes offering snacks which we found very pleasant. The weather prevented us doing many sea trips, but we did manage to visit Iona, which is remarkable, and definitely worth a visit.

This was a last-minute booking, our 4th visit to these lodges. Now, owned by Tom & Jo, you are always greeted with a warm welcome and they are there to help in many ways. Their generosity of basics and treats left for you and your dog's arrival is beyond any other accommodation provider. Thank you to you both.

Tips:

We thoroughly enjoyed a walk to Ar-bord restaurant on our first night, not sure why it has taken us so long to discover this delightful venue. A must was our 2nd night out to the busy Cafe Fish on the pier at Tobermory and our 3rd night meal out was a visit to Am Birlinn, on route to Calgary beach. Whatever the weather brings Mull continues to hold its' Magic.

Jo was a very welcoming and friendly host. The lodge was cosy and comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped which was great, lots of nice touches (welcoming pack of teas and coffees…and local biscuits were much appreciated). The garden was well maintained and fun to run around with a toddler…the path access down the bottom was a nice route to the village.

Tips:

Dervaig was a great location to explore from, the village store was well stocked and had everything we needed. The pub had a great atmosphere and the food was brilliant. We ate at Am Berlinn and had a very nice meal. Heritage centre was a great place to spend a wet morning.

We loved our stay with you. What a peaceful location & the lodge had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. I also really loved your comphrensive guide about the accomodation and all the local tips. It was great that you sent that via email in advance so we could fully prepare for our time with you. However, we do have a few bits of feedback. We would have appreciated a stair gate at the bottom of the stairs, in additon to the one at the top. In the information that you had on your website, it suggested that the upatairs was suitable for a child to sleep. However the velux blinds let so much light in. Our daughter did not sleep well during our time. It would be great if it could be made darker upstairs.

Tips:

We loved the black sea beach that you recomended in your local guide. And the cheese farm was fantastic.

Cill-Mhoire Lodges was well located for enjoying our time on Mull. Our lodge perfectly suited our needs, and they were so thoughtful in providing dog treats and pickup bags. Also appreciated that they had covers we could put on the couches as our pup is used to sitting next to us. The shower warmed up quickly, the beds were comfortable and the hosts were very helpful.. We had a tyre that was leaking air and they loaned us a gauge and pump, as well as pointed us to someone who could help with repairs. Will definitely recommend to friends planning to visit Mull.

Tips:

We enjoyed dinner at Am Birlinn and Mishnesh, as well as a yummy breakfast at the cafe in Calgary. We also really liked The Piece Box in Divarig for breakfast. There is a wonderful art walk and gallery you can also visit.

Our second trip to your lovely Lodges - and you have already have Sycamore Lodge provisionally held for us for 7 nights from Fri 18-Oct. We hope to finalise this booking with you tomorrow. Thanks again for your excellent accommodation and service.

Tips:

If you are interested in wildlife, Dervaig is one of the very best locations on Mull (& therefore in the whole of Scotland). A 30 minute scan of Loch a Chumhainn from the very convenient parking spot off the main road will often yield 25 bird species including soaring White-tailed Eagles, plus regular Otter sightings.

Cill-Mhoire was one of the best properties we have stayed in. The accommodation was spotlessly clean, modern and had thought of everything to make our stay comfortable e.g a good selection of kitchen resources, eco friendly cleaning products, hand soaps and creams, treats and poo bags for the dog and picnic containers, storage bag clips etc etc. There was good storage for muddy shoes and coats in the porch area and the living area was bright and comfortable with lovely views over the countryside. The information pack in the lodge was comprehensive and well organised.

The lodge is within a half hour drive from Tobermory and the local village has an excellent shop, pub (The `Bellachroy) and pop up takeaway (occasional).

The Old Byre just the other side of Dervaig great little cafe. The art gallery at Calgary for coffee and snacks. Don't try looking for wildlife, it will come to you. Loch Torr hide on a wet day. Buzzards vs eagles. Both big, but if its silent, probably an eagle. Buzzards can't keep quiet. Finally, Tobermory Bay Cruise, £15 for an hour. Money well spent and lots of possibilies.

A lovely home from home for the week with brilliant facilities and small touches which make all the difference. We will absolutely be back and also recommend these lodges to friends and family. We really enjoyed having the space of two floors in the Lodge, it made it feel really spacious.

Tips:

Look up! We saw plenty of birds and gorgeous starry skies from outside the lodge. The local pub has a quiz on a Thursday at 8pm which was a lovely way to end our stay. We had a wonderful stay in Willow lodge. The lodge was clean, comfortable and warm with great views, and was well-equipped with bed linen, towels, cleaning products, plates & cutlery etc, and even had spare blankets and a hot water bottle. We loved staying in the lodge and Jo and Tom were great hosts.

Tips:

The local convenience store in Dervaig is within walking distance and has a good selection of food & drink. The local pub is also within walking distance but we didn't visit it because we enjoyed staying in the lodge so much. Loch Torr and Loch Frisa are also nearby.

Just perfect accommodation, very clean and well thought out. Lots of welcome extras to get the family started. Owners obviously cared about their guests with an amazing information pack (very useful) and onsite if needed. So relaxing.

Tips:

Hired bikes from Salem, good quality and advice on off-road tracks. Loved our walks. Quaint heritage centre nearby with tea rooms. Loved beaches, including Calgary, where we had a fantastic walk through a Sculpture Park, very interesting, with awesome views for all ages. I really recommend eating at AR Bord (booked before we arrived) with wonderful food (but not a place for children). Devaig is fantastic with a well-stocked shop/post office, sadly not a warm welcome at pub when we arrived for Thursday night quiz. Want to return for longer stay.

We stayed in the Rowan Lodge for 3 nights, it was absolutely beautiful, amazing views and super clean. Lovely touches everywhere! Highly recommended for a Mull trip.

Tips:

The Ballachroy pub and the bottom of the hill is worth a visit for well earned refreshments and food. 3 miles from the lodge there is a restaurant called AM Berlinn which serves wonderful food!!! Don’t forget a trip to Staffa Island to see Fingal’s Cave and Iona.

26th August 2023:

We are a family of five and Beech had all we needed for our holiday. We all had enough space. An excellent place to stay. Such a nice setting with the gardens. We were looked after really well by Jo and Tom. Reassuring to have them around. Thank you so much for calling us to let us know about the items we had left behind so we could nip back to get them.

Tips:

The Post Office in Dervaig is great for food and supplies. Plenty of choice for vegans too. We enjoyed a good takeaway from the Belachroy after a long walk. The walk to the tearoom at Glengorm and back is lovely. We didn't walk out to Quinish Point this time, but an early morning run to Mingarry and then Quinish was a great 10k with eagles and ravens. Evenings at Croig watching the seals, terns, greenshank, turnstones, and curlews was also excellent. A rainy day in Tobermory was lovely too. Snacks from the Piece Box. Another excellent takeaway from the Spicy Sprout was delicious. Loved watching the male Hen Harrier down past the bridge in Dervaig. Days where we didn't need to use the car were the best. Climbed the hill to look at the stars and saw the ISS passing by. And so much more.

Thank you for the warm welcome and all the tips. The lodge was well stocked with maps and guides and everything worked. One thing you might want to look at is the bathroom door as it kept swinging open unless it was firmly closed.

Tips:

Calgary Bay was amazing for our kids even in the wind. The local tourist office does a quest for kids too, which helped encourage them to do things around the island. The boat across to ulva island was a great experience too.

Tips:

Highly recommended a boat trip with Mull Charters, based at Ulva ferry. Nice base to wander down to the Bellachroy pub and have a walk along the Loch side. Croig has 2 wonderful secluded beaches to find, easy enough to bike to. We enjoyed a great meal at Mcgochians in Tobermory.

Lovely accommodation. Lots of small touches which make all the difference e. g. a selection of zip lock bags for sandwiches!

Tips:

We dined at Am Bord which is a stone’s throw away. Quality dining but bring your own drinks. Next night went to the pub which again is about 10 minutes walk. Standard pub grub but perfectly fine. Did an organised wild life tour one day. 1000 hrs to 1700 hrs in a minibus. Great to see the island and its wildlife with out the stress of driving. It was sun out of Tobermory.

Thank you for being perfect hosts - we really enjoyed our chats & for sharing your local knowledge on things to do/places to go! We’ll definitely be back!

Tips:

Calgary beach is stunning - just a short drive from Dervaig. The local shop based within the Post Office in Dervaig has everything you need to get stocked up! Highly recommend Sea Life Mull for their Whale/dolphin spotting trip. We had a magical day out of the water with the most wonderful people! Also recommend The Gallery in Tobermory for breakfast/lunch (dog friendly) & Louises’s Pet Care - she took the most wonderful care of our dog whilst we were on our boat trip! He had the best time!

The lodge was spotlessly clean and equipped with everything we could possibly have needed. An idyllic setting, and we found Dervaig to be a good location, easy to get to pretty much everywhere on the island. Thank you for a lovely holiday

Tips:

We had a lovely meal at Am Birlam, the Ulva ferry is probably the cutest ferry in Scotland. The short trip over to Ulva includes entry to the little museum. Plus amazing coffee & cake at the Boathouse on the jetty at Ulva. The Turus Mara boat trip to the Treshnish islands was fabulous, puffins, seals, dolphins, razorbills, shags, sea eagles abd fingals cave. Well worth the money for an unforgettable day out. Tips:

We would definitely recommend The Bellachroy Inn in Dervaig for food but you will need to book. Also, fish & chips from Hook’d on Main Street in Tobermory, they were excellent. We loved the walk up to the light house in Tobermory & a visit to the Hebridean Whale & Dolphin Trust. The lodges are in a stunning location from where Coll can be seen in the distance. We hired Willow, which was just what we two needed. Very comfortable, clean and warm, with a great sitting out area. The lodge was one of the best-equipped that we have ever stayed in, and we particularly appreciated the maps and walking guides. Jo and Tom were very welcoming and full of local information.

Tips:

Am Birlinn served us a delicious Sunday lunch. Evenings were fully booked. The cheese farm cafe, the Boathouse on Iona, An Tobar (after a steep climb up from Tobermory harbour), all provided excellent coffee / cake. The Piece Box bread was great. For wildlife trips, Turus Mara might be better than Staffa Tours, and Nature Scotland land-based tours were recommended. HW and DT walking tour from Glengorm was fascinating. The hill road from Dervaig to Ulva Ferry is much better than the one from Calgary, although it too is narrow. For gardeners, Lip na Cloiche is beautiful.

This is our second stay at Cill-Mhoire, and we were as impressed by this visit as with our first. Sycamore Cottage was cosy, comfortable and very well equipped. Jo and Tom even provided doggy treats, a bowl and towel for our Cockapoo. They were excellent hosts, on hand every day, and provided lots of useful information about Mull in the folder in the cottage. The outdoor space gave great views of the beautiful scenery around Cill-Mhoire.

Tips:

Dervaig is a lovely little village, with a great little general store. It’s a good place from which to explore the north of Mull. The walk at Glengorm Castle is worth doing for the spectacular scenery, and the cafe there had great food too! The coastal road to Ulva is definitely worth a drive, with similarly spectacular scenery. We stayed at Rowan Lodge @ Cill-Mhoire Lodges prior to Jo & Tom's ownership, we were not disappointed. A warm welcome awaited our rather later than planned arrival, & their generosity in providing all that could possibly be needed when self-catering was amazing. Very clean accommodation, comfortable bed, warm lodge, and plenty of hot water, what more could we ask for? Very clear guest info file, yet J&T with their friendly outlook were very happy to assist with any queries. We'd give them 5*s. Thanks to both of you. (Perhaps the wooden floors with 2 excitable dogs meant, at times we were not so relaxed!)

Tips:

Mull wove its magic yet again! Only 1 long day out, travelling to Iona, but worth the drive to also revisit Uisken beach and Ardalanish Weavers. Another worthwhile visit to the friendly Isle of Mull Silversmiths; I claimed another piece of Mull jewellery! We had 2 very good meals out, @ Am Birlinn & Cafe Fish, both need to be booked in advance. Walks every day, but be aware of roaming sheep and cattle, there are places for dogs to run free, locally @ Calgary Bay and a circular walk in Devaig (towards Quinish Hse). We spotted an Otter, White-tailed Eagle & seals. We will be back. Thank you, Mull.

Willow Lodge was the perfect retreat for my mother and I while she was visiting Mull. It had all the comforts of home which enabled us to spend time out sightseeing knowing we could come back to the lodge in the afternoons/evenings and take our time making a nice dinner together while relaxing on the comfy sofas chatting into the night or watching a movie. We also loved that our dogs were welcome and special provisions were made for them such as comfy blankets so they could join us on the sofa and a whole jar of treats for them to share! Willow Lodge has the most beautiful views from the front porch and we both enjoyed having our morning coffee out on the porch as the day got started. Our hosts were wonderful and quick to respond to any questions. One of the best, if not THE best, self-catering experiences we have had!

Tips:

Mull is such an amazing place to visit and you would never run out of things to do! The hosts at Cill-Mhoire have a fantastic supply of materials available in their accommodations with up-to-date information on all of the local attractions from dining to wildlife tours to walks to shopping on the island. Beautiful location and a well catered lodge with everything you’ll need. Easy driving distance to Tobermory but more than enough away to be lost.

Tips:

Local pub is with walking distance (albeit on unlit road - there is a torch within the lodge) and it is lovely with good food and a great atmosphere. Maps are provided and their accommodation information is excellent so you’ll have plenty of ideas of where to go and how to get there.

Lovely enclosed verandah from which to look over the valley and the sea a few miles away. The chalet catches the sun all day and gets wonderful views of subsets and then starlit skies. Beautiful gardens aid the whole site are immaculately maintained, yet naturalistic.

Tips:

Recommend the walk to Quinush Point (5 his including stops). Lovely woodland for part of the way so was able to let the dog off the lead. Then it onto a wonderful headland with atmospheric standing stone and a seal colony just off the rocks. Walk up to the volcanic crater gave amazing views.

Well designed lodge (everything we could have needed) with fantastic views. Great place to explore Mull from. Very helpful owners, nothing was any trouble.

Tips:

We would highly recommend the Sea Eagle boat trip from Ulva Pier. We also loved going over to Ulva by calling the Ferryman - the food was excellent at the Boathouse on Ulva. Iona was well worth the long and beautiful journey - we particularly enjoyed the Sunday Service on Iona (also means you get into the Abbey free)

The lodge was simply breath taking. It had everything that you could think of form spoons to hair straighteners. The upstairs lounge is a great idea for the views. We didn't want to leave, Rowan Lodge was a real home from home. There is so much to see and do form Devaig. I honestly cant think of a way that our stay could have been improved. Our hosts were really friendly and knowledgeable. A fantastic stay we would return in a heartbeat.

Watch the skies. Check out the wild life hides. Walk up the hill to the bench and......well when you get there you will know. Soak in the silence.

The accommodation is in beautiful surroundings and affords lovely views across Dervaig and the surrounding hills. The accommodation was very well equipped and finished to a high standard. The hosts Jo and Tom were very friendly and approachable and very knowledgeable about the Isle of Mull. We very much enjoyed our stay here.

Tips:

Enjoyed visiting Glenmore Castle, have a very good meal at the Bellachroy Inn which is 5 minutes from the property in Dervaig. Also a visit to Tobermory is a must.

Had a wonderful stay in the Willow lodge. The lodge was perfect for us - everything we needed and nothing we didn't. The guide book in the lodge was packed with useful information and several days were planned around activities recommended. A stunning setting too. I would not hesitate to recommend to others - many thanks for your hospitality.

Tips:

It felt like we only really scratched the surface. The boys and I particularly enjoyed Laggan Sands, crabbing at Croig and the Aquarium in Tobermory. Staffa was worth a trip, but quite busy when we arrived and access was a little tricky as a result. Calgary bay was lovely too. So many lovely places - we were really lucky with the weather.

Lovely, immaculate, very well equipped lodges. Very friendly owners. Lots of information about Mull provided to help plan trip. Very dog friendly, big garden with stream. Would highly recommend staying.

We only visited Mull for 5 days, arriving late on our first day. We toured round the whole island which meant quite busy, long days so would suggest a longer visit for a more relaxing holiday.

This was our second stay. Our lodge (Beech) was spotlessly clean and comfortable for two couples, a teenager and a dog, as long as one couple don’t mind single beds which are fixed, so can’t be made into a double. The dog got his own welcome pack which he loved! Tom and Jo were friendly and helpful. The information pack in the lodge was full of recommendations for walks, beaches and local restaurants. We followed quite a few and were not disappointed. We would highly recommend Cill Mhoire and plan to return.

Tips:

We had a lovely meal at Ar Bord in Dervaig - bookings are essential. It’s only a couple of minutes walk from Cill Mhoire. We swam from Langamull Beach, Calgary and the black sands at Killninian. All were stunning and only a short drive from Dervaig. A visit to Iona is a “must do”. It’s almost two hours’ drive from Dervaig to the ferry and so visitors may prefer an overnight stay.

Myself and a friend stayed for a week in Beech Lodge and we couldn’t have been happier. The lodge was so well equipped that we could have moved in permanently without having to buy a thing except food and toiletries. The welcome pack was lovely and much appreciated after our long journey from Derbyshire. We even had ice cubes in the freezer! We were made really welcome from the minute we arrived until the minute we sadly left. The lodges are sited in a beautiful quiet spot only a short walk from the village where there is an amazingly well stocked shop and The Bellachroy pub where you can get fantastic meals with lots of gluten free options on the menu. As for the internet access………fast and faultless! If we get the opportunity to return to this breathtakingly beautiful island, then this is the only place we’d consider staying. I really can’t recommend Cill Moire Lodges enough!

Pristine comfortable accomodation equipped with everything you could need superbly comfortable beds and lovely bedding spacious bright lounge and great Wi-Fi too. Jo and Tom are lovely friendly and very helpful hosts and made the stay at Rowan a memorable one for us. The location is lovely on the edge of Dervaig with a great local shop and pub and good access to Tobermory. I really cannot recommend Cill-Mhoire Lodges highly enough. Cannot wait to visit again.

Tips:

We loved visiting the cafe at Glengorm great lunches soups sandwiches quiche and salads all freshly made . Also offers excellent walks. Another favourite was the old post office at Glenbuie lovely seafood lunch dishes and brilliant cakes and coffee. They also sell a range of Glenbuie larder meals ( no artificial flavours or ingredients ) delicious to heat up at home . Lucy Mackenzie’s garden Lip na Cloich is well worth a visit I came away with more plants again !

Perhaps it's enough to say whilst enjoying our 3rd annual stay at Cill-Mhoire, we booked our 4th! There is nothing we can fault - beautiful location, spacious lodge (we stay in Sycamore Lodge), super comfy bed, spotlessly clean, best equipped self-catering property we've ever stayed in with thoughtful extra touches added. Jo and Tom are great hosts who really have thought of everything and are always on hand, but never intrusive. Highly recommended!

Tips:

Lochbuie is a beautiful drive and the food at the Old Post Office makes it a great trip out. The Boathouse on Ulva is another favourite. Highly recommend a boat trip with Turus Mara. Calgary, Langamull and Traigh na Cille are some of our favourite beaches. We had a nice meal at the Bellachroy in Dervaig, within walking distance of the lodges. Be prepared for journeys to take slightly longer than you might expect and use only the passing places - verges hide lots of ditches!

Don't let their limited opening hours put you off, the Piece Box is well worth visiting. Their crab samosas were superb. Unless you need to go to Tobermory, the road to Salen up the valley (turn left just before the river bridge) is your best bet. And don't overlook the local store, it stocks a wide range of goods.

Our third or fourth stay here and as usual super clean and equipped lodges. They improve them each time we go with better beds. Better WiFi. The only thing I would like is a dishwasher as I'm just lazy. There are great quality towels. Every thing you need in the kitchen. Even had clingfilm and bin liners.

Tips:

Dervaig has a pub and a restaurant only a few hundred yards away. It's the perfect base to get to the hills or tobermory. Close to beaches. Probably the best spot on the island. We saw otters, deer, eagles and seals in the week along with assorted sea birds. The only thing we didnt see this year was the sun. But it didn't matter.

We had an amazing time at Cill-Mhoire Lodges. They are so well equipped with absolutely everything you need thought about, there was even picnic ware and tupperwares in the cupboards for use. The lodges themselves are spacious, clean, modern and very comfortable. We had a baby and a dog with us and they were catered to with a highchair and travel cot if we needed them and the dog had her own little feeding mat, biscuits, towel and poop bags all provided. The owners were so friendly and were on hand to give advice if you need ideas for places to visit during your stay, equally they give you space to enjoy your holiday and the grounds. We took picnic blankets and sat in the garden to watch the sun go down and it was the most peaceful setting I think I have ever encountered. The location of Dervaig is fantastic, it's quite central between Tobermory and Calgary Bay and there is a lovely local pub, shop and post office within walking distance of the lodges, although the hill on the way home will leave you out of puff :-) I would highly recommend staying here, I think you would be hard pushed to get better on Mull.

Tips:

Although not near the lodges the pub McGochans in Tobermory was very welcoming and it is dog friendly. We also went to the beach at Calgary Bay, it is beautiful white sands and loads of room to explore, run around and also just chill out.

We had a great stay at cill-mhoire lodges everything was thought of for our arrival, including a welcome doggy bag for our dog which was great. Our little boy who is one had a great time as there was a baby gate for the living room so we didn’t have to worry that he could get down the stairs. We had a fantastic time Only down side which has nothing to do with the owners is if you are with EE make an itinerary before you get there signal is poor and if you go into Tobermory it is non existent

Tips:

The mussels that you can buy from near inverlussa are fantastic it is only £2.50 for a 2kg bag. A trip to Iona if you can fit it in the drive to there is a bit far but worth it. The ferry is walk on only so no cars. We went a walk round aros park and up to the waterfall it only take 30 mins on the sign it says strenuous but it’s not to bad not suitable for prams or wheelchairs, there is another car park you can go to if you need one of theses and it’s a 2 mins walk from the other car park.

Tips:

The very helpful guide in the cottage gives some of the owners best secret locations to see the many hidden gems around the island. Use this as your guide for a memorable stay ! There is also a very useful walking book that has easy to follow routes. Our favourite is the Treshnish loop which covers both coast and moorland. As always we had a wonderful stay. Everything was perfect as usual on our 5th visit. Hope to be back in 2023. David & Trish Courtman & Inka

Tips:

There are lots of wonderful walks on the doorstep & the scenery is amazing. We visited Am Birlinn restaurant on the road to Calvary) 3 times & The Balachroy in Dervaig once. Both excellent. The Glengorm Estate tea shop for lunch is worth a visit. Its also the starting point of a few scenic walks.

Tips:

Go to the food market in Tobermory on a Monday. The range of products are amazing. The cheese from Mull Cheese, the smoked salmon from Tobermory fish, and the tray bakes from The Coffee Pot at Argyll House are all worth the visit.

Oh my goodness ! Having just spent a couple of nights in the Sycamore lodge. The lodge is extremely spacious, meticulously clean, with everything and more than you can ask for inside. The hosts have gone above and beyond regarding their Covid 19 measures and precautions. It is a credit to their considerations for current and future guests. I had booked the accommodation without realising it was pet friendly, not being a doggy person I must admit I did have reservations. Again, no need. There was absolutely nothing to give me any concerns.well done to you both. I am really fussy, some call it OCD, I’d give Cill - Mhoire Lodges , Dervaig 10 out of 10 all day. If I return to Mull , I know where I’ll be staying.

Jo and Tom have made Cill-Mhoire a lovely, restful hideaway. They have thought of everything their guests might need and the Lodges we have stayed in have been comfortable and welcoming on all our visits. A perfect place to relax and unwind with kind and helpful hosts on site. Ask Jo and Tom about the local history. Sit out and watch for the White tailed Sea Eagles and be ready to capture views of the stunning sunsets across to Coll and Tiree.

Tips:

Dervaig Stores and Post Office - well stocked, and good opening hours. Bellachroy pub - delicious menus. Calgary Art in Nature - a fascinating trail with wonderful views and an inviting tea shop. Calgary Bay- super beach, excellent ice creams and public toilets. Further afield- Ardnamurchan Lighthouse - worth all the steps, Whitetail Gin, Ulva, Iona and Turus Mara for sea trips. Tobermory shops - start at the Lifeboat Station and work back towards the harbour. Tobermory Bakery, and Tobermory Stores will keep hunger at bay as will the Fish Van. Mid island, The Coffee Pot at Salen - very good cakes, drinks and takeouts. And finally, while waiting for the ferry at Craignure, Arlene’s Coffee Shop and the Tourist Information Shop. Probably lots more that we’ve not yet found.

Beautiful lodge set in beautiful surroundings. The lodge really was a home away from home-but better! Absolutely spotless and extremely comfortable. We stayed in one side of a semi detached lodge whilst our friends stayed on the other side. Perfect set up. We also had our small dog with us who was made very welcome with his own bowl of treats and towel. There is actually nothing that I can think of that could have been done to make our stay any better. Even the sun shone for us!

Tips:

Had a lovely meal in the pub of the nearby Bellachroy Hotel - just a few minutes walk from our lodge (also dog friendly). The white sand beach at Calgary was really beautiful - definitely worth a visit. Can’t go to Mull without a visit to Tobermory-very pretty, with lots of nice pubs and small shops.

We loved our stay in Rowan Lodge. It was spotlessly clean and well furnished. Jo and Tom clearly put a lot of thought into providing everything required for a comfortable stay. We much appreciated the good selection of tea /coffee and especially the delicious Mull shortbread. The comprehensive selection of books and maps in the lodge provided all the information needed to plan activities around Mull. Jo and Tom were friendly and helpful without being intrusive. We certainly hope to return in future

Tips:

We visited a number of restaurants and the food in all was of a very high standard. Our favourite was Ar Bord which is literally a 2 min walk from the lodges. Delicious food in an intimate, cosy setting. Every course was a delight! We were fortunate with the weather and enjoyed a wee dip in some lovely river pools however the best of all was Fank beach which is a 5 minute walk from Croig harbour. Beautiful clear water in a stunning sheltered cove.

Tips:

We had a lovely meal in Ballachory Inn in Dervaig, a short walk from the Lodge. Glass Cafe at Isle of Mull Cheese just outside Tobermory gave us an excellent lunch, worth a visit. We have just returned from a full week at Sycamore lodge at Cill-Mhoire - what a beautiful site with great views and so near beautiful beaches, including Calgary bay. Jo and Tom run this place to high standards, very professionally and with care for the environment. I loved their folder on local places to visit and their suggestions on local restaurants and cafes. Above all, the advise on the hidden beaches near and far afield! Plenty of lovely walks too for all grades - fully appreciated the OS maps in the property and the walking book. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality!

Tips:

A fantastic location for a family holiday. Mull is a beautiful island but bigger then we anticipated. The finger like coastline plus the narrow roads with passing places makes this the ideal slow-down-relaxed holiday. However, if you want to explore the entire island, climb Ben More and take wildlife boat trips to near by islands and the unmissable Fingal’s Cave, you’ll find one week is not enough!! We’ll have to return..

24th October 2020:

We have stayed at the Sycamore lodge for three nights and it was a blast. While the Cill-Mhoire Lodges are based in a remote and magnificent quiet area at the heart of the isle of mull, it is only about 20 minutes away from the famous Tobermory town where you can find all your needs for your time of staying. The Sycamore lodge is a stunning and cozy little two story house. Very well planned and designed for the most convenient accommodation. It has a full complete kitchen equipped with everything that you can think of, even a washing machine included. On the same floor we had a gorgeous big bedroom, a nice bathroom, shower and toilet. Upstairs we got a cozy nice living room with some sofas and TV where you can actually also turn one of the sofas to a good big bed too. The owners Jo and Tom are a great young couple who really go out of their way to accommodate you with the best service and with every thing you possibly need and they were very polite. We enjoyed our stay very much and we can sum it up with one word - AMAZING.

Tips:

As mentioned earlier, go visit the town of Tobermory which is very close to your Lodge. There is a beatiful viewpoint of the colored houses at the harbour. There is right there also the Tobermory distillery and some other great shops and restaurants. Go and capture stunning images of the landscapes surrounding you and especially from the ancient boats left at bay just before the village of Salen. Also, visit the Ben More mountain. The scenic views you get there all the way around is purely amazing.

Fantastic accommodation presented to a very high standard. Jo & Tom were great hosts and kindly posted some keys to us that were unfortunately left behind when we left.

Tips:

The local pub served great food and the bar is dog friendly which was welcome on a cold February evening. We were only on Mull for a long weekend but we managed a winter walk up Ben More, some great low level short walks, seal spotting and even saw an Otter just north of Salen whilst parked up along the roadside at low-tide. All in all a fantastic trip!

Sycamore lodge was fantastic, clean, very well furnished and warm, the beds were very comfy and if we did need anything Tom and Jo were lovely people and glad to help out with anything we required. The kitchen was very well equipped and very clean and the upstairs room was a fantastic place to either relax or simply look at the view. We would love to return, the only thing we would order would be less rain!

Tips:

The wholesale fish shop on Salem pier had the best scallops I have ever tasted. The Fish restaurant in Tobermory was very good and good value for money. The Dervaig Spar was a really good local shop with most things you need. The dog loved Calgary Beach! Loch Tor Hide was very good for spotting eagles.

Beautiful clean and tidy lodge above Dervaig with stunning views to the loch below and Coll & Tiree on the horizon. Peaceful & quiet surroundings with a well stocked village store just a few minutes walk away. Everything you could possibly need is available in the lodge. The owners were very welcoming and non intrusive but were always nearby should you need anything else. They were also very knowledgeable of the local wildlife which was amazing!

Tips:

We really enjoyed watching the sunset from Calgary bay just 4 miles away and Tobermory 7 miles away has various craft shops and nice places to eat. Also the small aquarium can fill in a rainy afternoon well!

Beech lodge was so comfortable. Jo and Tom are fantastic people, they thought of everything. We couldn't find fault with anything!

Tips:

I am not a sun lover (pale skin with a hatred of garlic) so the climate on Mull suited me down to the ground. You will need good sturdy wellies/boots/shoes when exploring the island. Dervaig seems to have most things that you would need if you have to top up your provisions. We ate and drank ate the Bear Pit in the village on numerous occasions. It's very friendly with a good mix of people, locals and dogs.

A lovely house. Couldn't manage to work the TV, but that is down to our lack of tech-savviness. To be honest we didn't care as we were on a Getaway from the hustle and bustle of life, so that didn't really affect us. Tried to knock bfore leaving and say cheerio - following the instructions on the front door, but no reply. The shower was great, liked the idea of the wet room.

Tips:

Calgary Bay worth a visit and Calgary Art in Nature - the tearoom is good. Give yourself time to really explore that walk. Really interesting. Croig Beach is great too. You must try the local butcher meat sold in the shop in Dervaig. Brilliant quality and fantastic flavour too! We took some home! The Boathouse on Ulva is also worth a visit and watch out for the stunning Eas Fors waterfalls on the road to the Ulva Ferry

We stayed in Willow lodge - so well-equipped and comfortable, with lovely views across Dervaig towards the coast. We had lovely weather and made the most of the outdoor decking to enjoy the sun. The lodges are really well looked after, and Cill-Mhoire is the perfect place to come back to after days out roaming around lovely Mull :)

Tips:

Ulva is a must, as is a visit to Lip na Cloiche garden and nursery, which is on the way to Ulva Ferry. The drive around the west coast to Ulva is beautiful and, if you're lucky, you may get held up by a small herd of highland coos and their fluffy teddy bear offspring roaming free along the road!

Tips:

The Bellachroy pub in Dervaig is great and perfect for a pint of Loch Fyne Jarl after a walk to Quinish Point (from the lodge). Dervaig Artisan Bakery - wow! The best cherry tart and pain de campagne, but you have to be quick! Ardmore Point walk is incredible - look out for the white tailed eagles. Calgary beach is lovely but Croig beach is a hidden gem. Nice trip to Glengorm Castle. Mull Eagle Watch is a must. And Tobermory, of course, is lovely, as is the whisky of the same name. So much to do and not enough time. Definitely need to return!

Excellent hosts who were there if you needed them but never intrusive. Lodges were very well equipped with good quality dishes glasses and cutlery and spotlessly clean. Beautiful grounds where you were free to roam. Eagles really do fly over - breathtaking. Recycling was clean, efficient and no hassle. I always wash everything when I arrive but for the first time ever I didn’t even think about it - that’s what I call a holiday.

Tips:

We visited Ulva, went across on the wee ferry, had a lovely lunch at the boathouse and a great walk. The road to Ulva was busy and it takes longer than you would think to get there. We went on the sea eagle trip with Mull Charters. It was amazing I can’t recommend it enough. The owners were so welcoming and knowledgeable about the eagles and other wildlife the highlight of my holiday. The fish and chip at Salen are delicious.

Thank you very much for a warm welcome and helpful advice during our stay. Willow lodge was perfect and the addition of extras such as milk, tea bags, coffee, shortbread biscuits and even foil and cling film made it extra special. The OS maps and books with walks were very helpful which we made full use of. My two friends even congratulated me on finding such a lovely place to stay. We were all in agreement that we will return to Cill-Mhoire, as there is so much more to see and do on the Isle of Mull.

Tips:

Whale and wildlife watching with Sea Life Surveys at Tobermory. Very enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff. Saw Minke Whales, Basking Shark, Dolphins, Seals and a variety of sea birds. Walks: Treshnish Peninsula has beautiful coastal scenery. Does have a scramble up when leaving the coast to go inland. Coast to Coast: From Killiechronan to Salen and back. Fantastic lodge a home away from home. Felt very welcome, the lodge was ideal and I loved the wee touches like the doggy welcome pack, milk and tea and coffee facilities, cloths and washing up liquid and the olive oil and salt and pepper. The wi-fi was better than expected and I loved the fact that you left a throw for the couch. It is easy for us to keep our dogs off beds because they are not allowed at home but they are allowed on the couch and the understanding of this was fantastic. Only thing I would say is that the pressure from the shower was awful. Considering how fantastic the strength of the pressure of the water in the taps.

Tips:

Dervaig is a brilliant location - there is a pub and great village shop within a short walk (or very short drive). The village shop offers local produce which is excellent. The main town of Tobermory is only 8 miles away where you will find more shops and places to eat - and if you like seafood, you'll be happy. There are lots of excellent places to explore so pack your walking boots. Great stay at the Beech Lodge for my partner and I and our 2 kids. Warm, cosy lodge and equally warm reception from Tom and Jo when we arrived. Kitchen was well stocked with everything needed prepare meals, wireless connection was more than enough and everything was clean and presentable from the start. Tom took the time to contact us after we had checked out to update us on the ferry disruptions due to bad weather. It was very thoughtful and appreciated, an extra level of customer care that goes to show our hosts really cared about not only our time at Cill-Mhoire Lodges but also our overall visit to Mull. Highly recommended!

Tips:

Plenty to do in Tobermory, approximately 20 minute drive from the lodges. We visited the Aquarium, Art Gallery, the local bakery and coffee shop and many of the shops on the high street. Everything you need for a relaxing break was provided by the owners. The lodges felt luxurious and cosy and the views from the site were amazing.

Tips:

The lodges are ideally situated for exploring the north and east of the island with ease. The single track roads with passing places are surprisingly easy to get used to and there is relatively little traffic anyway. Going down to the south west of the island for Iona would require a full day involving more driving but there is plenty to do in the surrounding area including eagle watching at Dervaig, Tobermory, visit to Ulva, Calgary bay and there are some great boat trips from Tobermory too. (Not cheap but worth it for the wildlife encountered).

Another great stay at the pretty Cill-Mhoire cabins. This time I stayed in the Sycamore whihc was a lovely cabin with gorgeous views down to the loch. Everything I needed, inclduign a good powerful hairdryer. Nice selection of tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Also having a welcome pack of doggy treats was a thoughtful bonus. Flora (my dog) enjoyed them!

Tips:

Calgary bay was beautiful and atmospheric, the fish and chip van in Tobermory does a nice chip butty, and you have to try the Dervaig bakery (order on Facebook). Their pain au choclate and cinnamon buns are amazing. The pretty island of Iona is nice to visit.

This is by far the best place on mull to stay! The location is perfect with views of the sea , a lock and wildlife from the lodge. Its remote, but with a village a 5min walk away with a shop and Tobermory a 10 min drive away. The Host of the Lodge were helpful, friendly and welcoming. The Lodge was clean, spacious and comfortable. The Lodge had every amenity necessary - fully functioning kitchen, Strong fast wifi, Bath, Shower, TV with free sat and DVD player, Radio, CD player, Books, Games. You name it they had it. There was information on the best places to eat, the best places to go, where to get local produce. Overall we had our best holiday.

Tips:

Mull Charters - Sea Eagle - dolphins Turus Mara - Puffins - dolphins Ben Moore mountain - Golden eagle Tobermory - food at Macgochan's keep your eye out when driving at loads of wild life all around the island - otters, owls, Hen harriers. etc.

Absolutely wonderful stay. The facilities were excellent and the welcome pack of tea coffee milk and sugar was a lovely touch. Jo and Tom were great, friendly, approachable and very informative regarding the local area. We will definitely be staying again.

Tips:

Ardmore Point - to see Dolphins in the Sound Quinish Point - spent an hour there with a sea eagle and if you like orchids it is covered in them. Tobermory Smoke House - for the best hot smoked salmon and local sausages (we liked the herb and the pork and apple ones) which are also available in the great shop in Dervaig. Also the local pub serves a great pint and the wonderful White Tail Gin. What more can you ask for.

What a fabulous place to stay. Our lodge was spotless and spacious. The kitchen was well equipped and the lounge had everything you could wish for on a rainy day. The owners made us feel very welcome on arrival and were extremely supportive when we had to find a vet on the first day! The attention to detail in the lodge was brilliant and even maps were provided. The view from the lounge was amazing for bird watching and we saw the white tailed eagle hovering over its prey. We enjoyed it so much we are planning the next trip.

Tips:

The local pub in the village does excellent food and allows dogs in the bar. Calgary beach is lovely for letting the dog have a good run. Mull cheese is interesting and does good breakfast - that's on our list for next time! Tobermory is a beautiful little town with the whisky distillery well worth a visit. Café Fish does the best lobster salad sandwiches, so fresh. We can recommend the drive down the west coast, so beautiful heading towards the ferry for Iona. On the way back we saw a stag and deer crossing the road. Iona is definitely worth a visit and only about 20 minutes on the ferry. The Isle of Mull is a nature lovers paradise and so unspoilt. We will definitely re-vist.

Tips:

The pub in Dervaig is great for evening meals, but try and book a table at latest on the day. We had a great holiday thanks in no small part to Jo and Tom who were on hand with great advise on where to go and what to do. Accommodation was exactly what we wanted in a fabulous location with great views and convenient for Tobemory, Calgary beach and Ulva Ferry and general exploration of the North of Mull. We hope to return soon as we had such a restful and relaxing time.

Tips:

We loved Calgary Beach especially early in the day before others "found" it however take the time to investigate other walks and beaches as they are worth the effort and often you can have them to yourself. Cafe Fish is a must but book ahead as it gets booked up. Isle of Mull Cheese - if you want to see the cheese making process then go in the morning but either way the Glass Barn cafe is worth a visit.

We booked this accommodation as it was accessible, which is hard to find on the island. The chalet is suitable for most needs, however the bedrooms are a bit tight for getting a wheelchair in. It was absolutely fine for us and the owners Jo and Tom made everything so easy for us. We also had two dogs with us and they had a blast. They especially enjoyed their welcome pack of treats, towels etc.

Tips:

We were there visiting friends so weren't really there for eating out etc, but there are many restaurants in the area which come highly recommended including Am Birlinn, about 3 miles away, who will pick you up and drop you back if they are available. Bookings advisable for most restaurants.

Well catered cabin, everything and more you could ever want in a holiday apartment. Plenty of room and well maintained. We only had two small complaints which were minor, the bed mattress was very hard and uncomfortable and the Freeview tv was poor watching but it is because we are use to having sky TVs at home. We didn't like the air bed for the kids, think bunk beds or futon would have been better. Would love to go again.

Tips:

Most of the local restaurants where very nice... Calgary beach is lovely...brilliant for wildlife... Ulva is a cheap crossing and a nice walk... The wildlife boat trips expensive... Fishing charter boats are good fun but again abit on the dear side. We didn't get chance to go pony trekking but it is an option... Coffee pot cafe in Salen is excellent but parking would be hard in peak season. This is our third visit to the island and probably not come again as not a huge amount to do for long visits here.

We had a warm welcome from Janet and Andrew and shown all the details of the clean and well proportioned Rowan lodge. Lovely lodge to sit outside and watch the sunset with a G&T!

Tips:

We ate out at 4 different restaurants, Cafe Fish (essential to book) & Mishnish in Tobermory, both excellent fish meals. Then Am Birlinn near Dervaig who fetched and returned us to and from the lodge, and then The Mediterranean at Salen, again both gave us plenty of choice and great food. You have to get used to single track roads, but this is part of island life, and Mull still weaves it's magic on you as you soak in the scenery and pleasures of the wildlife.

Highly recommend Sea Life Surveys - we didn't see any whales or dolphins this time but plenty of basking sharks and great view of a sea eagle. Mull Eagle watch very good value and very informative. Just generally stunning scenery and stunning wildlife.

Great site and well equipped lodge. Friendly owners who were available to help out with any problems. If you have a dog you'll need to keep it on the lead outside the lodge.

Tips:

I'd highly recommend the pub quiz at the local pub on Tuesday night which is hosted by the own of the lodge, its a great night out. The Am Birlinn restaurant is a fantastic place to dine but not cheap. The Loch Na Keel burger van is also definitely worth a visit, its not your usual burger van, I had a really nice lobster there.

We stayed in the willow lodge. The lodges are well built. Recycling and compost bins let you continue to care for the environment away from home, All appliances and furnishings were in top shape and in sufficient quantity. Cleanliness was impeccable. The Stevens' concern in our comfort and pleasant stay reflects in the quality of the accomodations. One point of improvement : the matress of the queen bed, in the double room should be replaced shortly

Tips:

Allow time fer displacements, as the sinuous single lane roads across the island don't permit formula 1 speeds. We booked a fantastic cruise to Staffa and Treshnish isles. Duart castle is pleasant to visite. Tobermory is a nice town to spend time in. Fabulous vistas arond the isle make it worth while to move about. And look for the mystical standing stones!

We had an excellent stay at Cill-Mhoire lodges; the lodge itself was very comfortable and well-maintained, and the owners even fitted a stairgate at our request, which was very much appreciated by us for the safety of our toddler. The lodge made an excellent base for us in exploring the island. Of course, all car journeys on Mull's single-track roads are more 'interesting' than on the mainland; however, once you are used to this, the lodge is a reasonable distance from Tobermory as well as sites of interest such as Calgary bay etc.

Tips:

The island itself is so beautiful that if you want to see amazing scenery, all you really need to do is drive around and occasionally stop to enjoy the view!

It was a lovely stay. It worked out perfectly with our six month old baby which was a relief. We were also offered a travel cot which was very useful. The lodge was very clean and there was everything in the lodge that we needed (and more, such as games and a CD player, etc). If we were to come back to Mull in the future we would absolutely stay again.

Tips:

A perfect wee lodge if you like to stay in in the evenings and cook for yourself. A bit of an uphill walk back from the local village if you do decide to go out in the eve.

Janet and Andrew were very welcoming. We just loved the place. We had three grandchildren with us and the outside space was just terrific for them to play together. We were in the a Beech Lodge with three bedrooms which was better if you have children as it is detached and slightly away from the rest. Would definately come back!!

Tips:

We had excellent fish and chips in the local pub. A bit pricey but the service was very good considering it was very busy. We sat outside as all tables inside reserved. Better to book in advance. The beach at Calgary is very good for children., and of course Tobermoray is a very special place. The grandchildren were able to see the places where Balamory was filmed. Weather unfortunately was not very kind, but the lodge has lots of games, books and DVDs to keep the children happy.

Tips:

Calgary beach is gorgeous, as is the art trail. The Am Birlinn restaurant is really worth a trip during spring/summer (closed across winter). Any trip to Tobermory should incorporate hot chocolate from the chocolate shop, or fish and chips from the little pier. 13th August 2013:

Wonderful location between Tobermory and Calgary bay. There were great views out over the island, we could see to the ocean which made for some stunning sunsets. The trees to the rear of our lodge had a family of buzzards which gave us some great displays. The lodge itself is modern but has a rustic country feel. The upstairs living room is amazing with a very comfy sofa, a tv is provided although we never used it preferring to watch the views instead. The bathroom and kitchen have all the appliances you could need and the bedroom is very roomy. I would highly recommend Cill Mhoire to anyone planning a stay in Mull.

Tips:

If coming for wildlife watching, which I assume most people are, I highly recommend booking onto a boat trip and taking one of the wildlife tours. This gives you the best opportunity to see the many species on the island and also lets you know the best places and ways of finding the animals. After a few trips me and my boyfriend were spotting our own eagles, seals, otters, and many more. A trip to one of the island is also a good way to spend a day just make sure everyone in your party has good sea legs. The fish and chip van next to the clock tower is Tobermory serves some great food. If staying in self catering accommodation I would advice trying to bring along most of your food supplies as the local shops are a bit more expensive than on the main land but are very handy for essentials such as milk and fresh bread. Most importantly enjoy the island regardless of the weather, a bit of rain is actually good for spotting wildlife.

4th August 2013:

Beautiful location just a few minutes walk out of Dervaig and 7 miles from Tobermory. Lodge had everything we needed for a great week. I would recomend it to anyone. You can walk for miles and miles by the coast and not see anyone all day, if you want isolation

Tips:

Do go on one of the wildlife tours either inland or to the islands as the hosts know were the animals often are, were on your own you, would just drive past. DO take a good set of binoculars for use the rest of the week so you can go back and take a second look. Boathouse restaurant on Isla of Ulva is Excellent

15th June 2013:

Friendly. Need a bigger teapot in Beech! Perhaps clingfilm could be provided. Didn't realise the road was so close.

Tips:

Be sure to take good walking shoes/boots. If your destination isn't uphill on the way there, it's uphill on the way back. Loads of sea and nature trips available, all good. Pub quiz should not be missed.

29th May 2013:

Excellenty appointed chalet where basically nothing is missing. Comfortable and clean - overall a very good holiday experience.

Tips:

Don't miss viewing the local church or attending a service (Sunday, 2 p.m). Itr is small but one of the most beautiful churches you will ever see. Food-wise: both the local Bellachroy hotel and particularly the Am Birlinn restaurant on the way to Calgary offer good ood and a pleasant environment. Shouldn't miss Am Birlinn in particular - if you call, they will pick you up and bring you home after your meal.

The lodge was clean, warm and very comfortable. The location is brilliant with lovely views of Dervaig. Andrew was very helpful with information about things to do and see on the island. He also made sure we had everything we needed in the lodge. We would certainly recommend Cill -Mhoire as a place to stay on Mull. Thank you Andrew for a lovely holiday.

Lovely clean and well equipped lodge. Lack of wifi only downside.

Tips:

Local pub food was excellent. Purchased many of supplies before arriving but could have easily waited and bought at local store, was surprised at variety and volume of options they had available.
